Chaenomeles speciosa 'Geisha Girl' also known as Japanese Quince is a compact non-evergreen shrub with spiny branches, dark, glossy green leaves, salmon-pink flowers with yellow centres in spring which are sometimes followed by apple-shaped, edible yellow fruits in autumn which are fragrant when ripe. This delightful plant is best grown against a sunny wall or trellis in a cottage or informal style garden and is easy to look after.
