Hamamelis vernalis 'Sandra' also known as 'Witch Hazel' is a large, rounded, non-evergreen shrub of an open branched habit with green oval leaves which are purplish when young, turning orange and red in autumn and deliciously fragrant, clusters of deep yellow flowers with narrow, crimped petals in winter and early spring on the bare branches.
