Ilex x altaclerensis 'Ripley Gold' or Holly 'Ripley Gold' is a handsome, evergreen shrub with dark green leaves that are decoratively splashed with primrose-yellow towards the centre of each leaf and white flowers during May and June which are followed by bright red berries if planted near, or close by a male variety of Ilex. This striking, bushy shrub is easy to care for, attractive to bees and can be grown within a border for architectural interest, against a wall, fence or used as formal hedging.
