Large, saucer-like, vibrant reddish-purple flowers with attractive golden centres are produced on Clematis 'Richard Pennell' during May, June and again in September.
This non-evergreen climber can be grown against a trellis, garden fence, wall, arches, pillars, pergolas, clambering over tree stumps and through large shrubs or planted in a container trained up bamboo canes or an obelisk.
Clematis 'Richard Pennell' was raised by Walter Pennell of Pennell and Sons nursery and named after his son in 1974.
